Winter Destinations: Park City Utah.
On the Eastern side of the Wasatch Mountains, in The Utah Rockies, nestled amid 10 thousand foot high peeks, is the resort city of Park City. A veritable skiing and winter sport haven, this town harbors two of the best ski resorts in the world.
Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley, and the Canyons Resorts, are for sure world class, and they attract droves upon droves of vacation goers eager to practice their skiing, or if needed learn how to, but also countless amenities, to keep visitors busy all season, with restaurants, shopping centers, activities. Snowboarding, skiing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sleigh rides, tubing and more are all very easily accessible to visitors.
Park City is only 36 miles away from Salt Lake city, through one of America's busiest intestate highways, I-80, so accessibility is not a problem.
But don't assume that winter sports and activities are all Park City has to offer. For example, not very many people know that one of the worlds most famous and largest, if not the number one, independent film festivals takes place in the park city area. That is right, The Sundance Film Festival has called Park City home since the late 1970s.
And that is only a taste of what makes Park City a surprisingly warm feeling and welcoming full of fun winter destination.
