Alaska, a new glimpse of the last frontier.
Alaska, the largest state in the United States of America, boasts a reputation as one of the vastest and most pristine natural areas, and for good reason. The harsh climate and the rugged landscape have made it a refuge for wildlife and a setting for unmatched beautiful scenery.
In the last few years, it has become a destination of choice for many cruise ship travelers. In fact there is a yearly uptick of visitors every year, all coming to witness first hand, the unforgiving yet majestic scenery of the the Alaskan landscape, and the number of visitors promises to keep rising in the next few years.
Many of the worlds largest cruise-liners offer a multitude of itineraries starting from Seattle and Vancouver, or even San Francisco. Yet, none of these planned trips actually scratch the surface of what the state can offer, but all give a different taste of the Alaskan nature, wildlife, and native culture.

Another way of experiencing the state firsthand, has been that of adventure travelers, whom since the early days of the Alaskan statehood have risked life and limb to test themselves and enjoy firsthand the unforgiving landscape and the absolutely beautiful landscape and the promise of trying adventure. Hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, and expeditions are more and more organised and safer, yet offer a rare treat.
Many species of animals and loads of flora call the state home, but the most famous are the bears, brown and polar, the wolves, the whales, moose etc.
Visitors face a choice on where to go and what to see, due to the states' geographic vastness, hence it is advised to come back and see more. To conserve the states natural beauty to its pristine origins visitors are advised to respect plants and wildlife and not take or remove things from their natural habitat and take them as souvenirs, and of course to not litter.
