Haunted spooky places around the world, The Catacombs in Paris.
Around the world are places with a reputation for the unknown, mystically captivating, and invoke a feeling of spookiness and eariness, no other places excite into our brains. Some of these places have made it into popular art, and culture as a whole. You might recognize some of these spots from movies you enjoyed or paintings you saw, but some of them you have never heard of, nonetheless gained notoriety for all the wrong Spooky reasons.
The Catacombs in Paris:
Unbeknownst to most visitors, enjoying all the beautiful city of lights and love has to offer, are the catacombs. These are underground ancient stone mines underneath the city, filled with the stacked remains of more than six million people in a small part of a tunnel network beneath the city. the gruesome sight was started in the late 18th century to relief the overcrowding of the Paris cemeteries. Remains from one of Paris largest cemeteries, "Saints Innocent" were moved into the old mine corridors and later organised and stacked into the present form during the early 19th century. The space the ossuaries occupy is small compared to the larger underground Paris tunnels , but there notoriety is such that Parisians refer to the whole tunnel network as " Les Catacombes."
