Haunted spooky places around the world, The Capuchin catacombs.
Around the world are places with a reputation for the unknown, mystically captivating, and invoke a feeling of spookiness and eariness, no other places excite into our brains. Some of these places have made it into popular art, and culture as a whole. You might recognize some of these spots from movies you enjoyed or paintings you saw, but some of them you have never heard of, nonetheless gained notoriety for all the wrong Spooky reasons.
The Capuchin catacombs, Palermo, Italy:
As if from a medieval written tale, the story of the Capuchin catacombs in Palermo Italy, starts in the late 16th century, with monks, digging crypts below the Capuchin church. They enter one of there own, brother Silvestro of Gubbio. later on, bodies were washed with vinegar, or enclose in glass cases, or even dehydrated on racks. Over the years, the number of mummies grew to surpass 2000. Many of which are dressed as they used to when still alive. One of the most captivating one is the so called "Sleeping beauty," Rosalia Lombardo.
